I am looking to install some baby apes on my 99.....does anyone know if i can get away with the cable changeover if i put 10's on it? thanks for your help!

16" apes require 10"+ over. So, I would assume 4"-5" over for 10" apes.

thanks for the welcome......the bike has big beach bars on it now.....maybe they arent the stock cables? anyone know the factory lenghts?

i could have sworn that some people did 12's with no cables? you would probably need a new brake line but i think you could maybe just re route cables and there will certainly be enough wiring

I have done 16's and only replaced the brake line. As long as you don't mind your wires and cables running down your bars and behind the tripe tree instead of looping in front of it. I actually think it looks cleaner, but that's just one dummies opinion. Mine are +3 and the only reason I did that was I found stainless ones on eBay for real cheap. Good luck!

yea for my 16s, the throttles are stock, clutch is 2+ because i bought 2 over for my beach bars, and brake is 26in upper line i believe

I have to call ya on that one ... there is no way stock length cables will work with 16" apes... tried it... unless you got a cable stretcher or somethin ... got any close up pix of that?

Everything stock, but the brake line. It don't look the best, but it is able to be done.



+3 looks A LOT cleaner - In my opinion.

Ok Shamrock, ya got me on that one... but, just how safe and practical is that? I just dont see doing something like that if ya cant do it correctly... but, to each his own...
