Will a zip tie work? The colors match.

the plug stays on the rectifier, but its like there is a piece of rubber missing on the rectifier side. if i push it all the way down no charge if i move it up a lil bit and wiggle it just right it charges again

Been through hell and back with my charging and starting system. I would try and take plug off, then see if any of the seperate wires are loose. there is a little piece that holds them in the plug and it can work loose. Next try to put plug back on by pushing down on the wires and not the plug itself. I need a new plug and I have two zip ties to hold in place which is a little sideways. Good Luck.

im thinking about putting a lil silicone on the rectifier side just to see if i can get it to lock on and stay where it needs to be.

I had the same thing happen to me, and also noticed the same 'when it's pulled out it charges' condition.
So I took two skinny 4-5 inch'ish (when laid down and slack pulled out) rubberbands and with a pocket screwdriver, gently looped them inside the outer shell and around the inner part of the plug on the wire side and then using my training in Popeye-Fu, I held the rectifier and pushing the plug, eazed them together until it clicked. If you aren't a master of Popeye-Fu, you may want to use something like a couple speed clamps to eaze the plug into the socket to compress the rubber bands until the plug and socket click into place.

It's been 4-5 thousand miles and no trouble since.

I have a 1" voltmeter mounted on my chop, I now have plans for Volt/Oil Pressure gauges for my Star. I just haven't decided where I want to mount them yet, or it would be done.

Where did you get the gauges? I am looking for a cheap volt and oil pressure gauge.

These are the gauges I was looking at: SUN PRO -CP8092- MINI TRIPLE WHITE FACE GAUGE KIT
If you're interested, you should be able to order them at your local Autozone.
I would rather not purchase the the kit with a temp gauge, but they don't have them listed to be sold seperately and this 3 pc set is the only white face 1.5 in gauges I can find.
I have a friend with a plasma cutter that I will get to cut some .125 stainless plate for mounting brackets, once I decide where I want to mount them.

Sorry it took so long to reply.

It just occured to me that since your doing a black bike, that this kit with black rings and white face or even this kit with black ring and black face might have a look that does better on yours.
