Battery Dead???? 1 Year, 9 Months ago
I got up this morning after owning the bike less than a month and the battery was dead. Not enough for the lights. I took a 170 mile ride on Saturday and had not turned it on since. I assume its the battery, but is the battery not getting a charge? I rode it every weekday and at least one day on the weekend since I got it, but this was the first longer ride. Alternator??

Is bike NEW? or used ''' battery could be shot if it wasn't charging I would think it would of been running rough while you were riding it? My two pennies

Bike is "NEW", and it was not running rough.

What's your riding style? Do you start your bike and ride around the block and then turn it off and restart? Short trips between starts does not give the alternator enough time to recharge battery. A person that makes a lot of short trips needs to use a trickle charger.
That being said, you may also have a bad battery or alternator. Since its new, I assume its still under warranty.

Being a new bike, the chances of a component being shot is slim although not impossible, a better chance that there is a loose connection or the charging system was not plugged in during assembly. In any case, let them sort it out under warranty..........

Check that the battery connections are on tight. Sometimes they may vibrate loose.

Use some diaelectric grease between the post and connector.

What's the chances of turning the bike off using the kill switch then forgetting to turn the key off?? Don't ask me how I know about this. . .

Will the key come out while it is still on? That is the only thing I can think of is user error.

I will check the connections later when I get home, had to ride the cage to work for the first time since I got her. That sucks.
