Pipes that are loud when wideopen, quiet when not. 1 Year, 9 Months ago
Can anyone recommend some pipes that are of reasonable volume (louder than stock, but not obnoxious) while riding around town or at normal cruise speed, but that get loud when you crack the throttle open?

I was told the HK ResTech 3" pipes fit this description. What else is there? Are there any pipes like this that are less expensive than the ResTechs?

Thanks!

My 3" Roadburners are like that but I'm sure there's more.

V&H propipe 2-1 they are about as quiet as OEM drilled at stage 1 when at cruise and liven right up when you crack the throttle.

After installing the Hard Kore baffles from Smartpatrz in my Yamaha Speedstar long drag pipes, they are like that.

Since you don't have the information in your profile, what year is your R*?
Not all aftermarket exhaust makers offer pipes for all years.

I am selling a set of Bub Stubbies if you are interested.

I agree with Flash B that most pipes, with modern baffles, may fit your description.
