Communication systems 1 Year, 9 Months ago
I am looking to get a comm system. My main goals are rider to passenger comm and having the ability to listen to an mp3 and at some point hooking up a gps. Not married to the idea of wired or wireless. My main concern is good quality. Cheap but drives me nuts isnt what I am looking for. Thanks in davance for the help

Many options out there......
Scalia Rider (sp?)
StarComm
Autocom

None of it is cheap. Remember, you get what you pay for! You buy junk, you get junk.

As for me, I have the Autocom. Zero wind noise up to 180MPH. Can be connected to your cell phone, GPS, MP3 player, a 2way radio for bike to bike comunication, and has an intercom for rider/passenger. Voice activated ( VOX ). Some models are powered by a 9 volt battery, some are powered by the bikes electrical system. Very small ( mine is under the seat ). It's a wired system.

I've got my cellphone plugged in while I'm on the bike, so if someone calls, I can take the call. All handsfree. Nobody knows I'm on the bike, traveling down the road at 55MPH or better. No wind noise at all. Just ask Flashback. I also have a 2way radio plugged in so I can talk to my son, bike to bike. Audio quality is GREAT! Sounds just like he is talking to me face to face, instead of 1/2 mile or more apart.

You can get good deals on the Scala Rider multi sets on Ebay. Good quality, easy to use, short learning curve. Nice to be completely wireless and connected to your Bluetooth phone too.

We have the Scala Rider team set. It's wireless, you can use gps, ipod and bluetooth to your phone. When I purchased my original set up I had a terrible problem but Scala Rider replaced the set with no problem and we are very happy with our system.

+1 on the Autocom. Believe they may still be on sale
also. Believe I paid around $220 for everything through
Topgear. They are out of the active plus systems but still
have some of the adaptors left.
