Yep.

Probably the easiest/safest way to get them out is to build them up or weld a nut to the end of them and simply twist them out.

If the stud is too far in to weld a nut or build up, get a carbide rounded end burr smaller than the hole you now have drilled and work it on the E-Z out at the bottom of the hole. Use a HIGH SPEED air die grinder or dremel and grind away at it. It will cut(slowley) but it will not shatter like a carbide center drill. You will Know when you are thru by the feel, and the alum. stuck to the end of the burr.

I repeat my earlier post. IF YOU BREAK OFF A CARBIDE CENTER DRILL IN THE HOLE AND CANT GET IT OUT, THE HEAD COMES OFF AND GOES TO THE SHOP. Sorry if I shouted, been there done that.

The guy who did mine said I came real close to an oil channel when I drilled off center. Fortunately I lucked out. But I guess the key is staying as close to the original hole as possible. I ended up with a helicoil, a larger stud and a hole filled with red Locktite. And a $220 hole in my wallet.

I learned all these lessons the hard way. In the end the cure so it doesn't happen again is anti-seize! Lube those babies up like no tommorrow with anti-seize (same for your spark plugs by the way) when you put on the exhaust nuts and you will never go down this road.
