Thanks Doc, so much of your stuff was helpful. I'm going to make the mud gaurd out of steel, it's easy for me to work with and I've got a ton of it laying around. I'm just gonna mock something up using pop rivets and then weld it all together. I'm really tight on clearance on the belt side, so I want to be able to bend it if I have to.

Yes ... that's my problem area too. I horizontally slotted the holes where the attachment bolts go so that I can move the guard back and forth.

There is very little room to play between the tire and the belt.:ohmyo being able to move it side to side helps.

WCC front fender needed to be trimmed a little shorter because I put it so close to the tire

Tank extension glued in place. I used this shit called "Maxim" panel adhesive. It comes 2 parts in one caulk tube. I bought a cheap caulk gun because my good one walked away, and instantly detroyed it trying to pump this crap through their special mixing tip. I ripped off the tip and just pumped it out and mixed by hand. Stuff reminds me of a product called "pro-seal" that we used to use to seal aircraft gas tanks. Even smells the same, really messy stuff but super tenacious once dry. After trying 10 different ways to clamp the extension, these $2 clips I had laying around worked perfect.

Here's a shot with the extension in place, really helps the lines:

Bondo and primed

Rear fender, finally ready for paint:

Here is the leather I got on ebay for the seat, love the color:

Reminds me of the 3M stuff I use .... open time 3 minutes, bonds in 3, cured in 10 ... you gotta work fast.

Same deal with my cauling gun ... destroyed on trying to pump the stuff through.

Too funny.

Like the leather ... been thinking of doing my custom seat in a similar colour.

The stuff I used had a 1 hr working time which was nice since I moved the extension 50 times before I was happy, and still ended up with a damn lump on the left side! It also allowed me to clamp it in place with the tank on the bike, which helped alot when lining it all up.

What I did .... lined the extension up like I wanted to and then drew a line with a marker on the tank along the edge of the extension, all the way around. Put the glue on the extension, slip it on to the line and hold for 3 min.

Did I mention that the dropped the tank on the extension end when I was handling it ... no separation. Stuff holds real well so I use it whenever I need to glue stuff together.
