Hello Guys,

First off thanks for the Roadie Forum, I've learned allot from you guys already.
I have owned a 2005 RoadStar XV17AWT (1700) for 20 days so far (bought with 14k miles on it).

I have put about 1,600 miles on it so far with no problems, but I have a rattle/clanging which I believe is coming from the chrome cover on the belt (by the rear tire). It appears to be mounted with rubber washers and tight, what else can I do to remedy this rattle noise?

You can take if off.

Some folks take out the rubber washers and mount it solid. You can also put something between the cover and the frame where it touches ..... like a small felt pad that attaches to the bottom of chairs legs.

I'm going to put a bead of clear silicon caulk along the inside of the weld on the swingarm were it hits. Let it dry, put the guard back on. Should do it.
