For a 180 tire go to the 5.5" rim.

For calculating your tire's diameter, take the tread width (180)and divide by 25.4. Take that total and multiply it by the tire height in percentage(.70). Take that total and multiply by 2. Take that total and add it to wheel diameter(16) = 25.92"

Stock = 25.45
180/70/16 = 25.92
200/60/16 = 25.45

180/55/18 = 25.8
200/55/18 = 26.66
200/50/18 = 25.87

Cool, you can but the problem is the tire sidewalls get pulled in reducing the width you are after. Most tire manufactures have a chart on their web page showing the recommended wheel width for tire sizes.

Biggame, there are some tools you can find on the web that will give you the conversions. I would recommend going to the tire manufacturer web page and look at their charts for dimensions

Biggame--

The 180mm is the tread width the 60-70-80 etc. denotes aspect ratio meaning the height of the sidewall is 60%, 70% 80% etc. of the tread width...There are 25.4mm per inch...

Thus, the height of the overall tire and wheel package is calculated this way:

width x aspect ratio x 2 PLUS the size of the wheel In this example you get:

180/25.4 = 7.07 x .70 (70 is the aspect ratio) = 4.96 x 2 = 9.92 + 16 (wheel size = 25.92!

I know I am not Doc but I figured an answer is an answer

Regards, Ted

Aspect ratio = Ratio of a tire’s section height to its section width (height divided by width).

For example, a 180/70 has a section height that is 70% of the section width.

The smaller the number the less sidewall the tire has and the flatter it looks.

Try this .... http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html
