Back from Mexico and ready to ride 4 Years, 10 Months ago
I jut got back from Mexico and am ready to ride. I was supposed to go across country riding from N.Y. and the wife was going to meet me in Colorado. From there we were going to cruise the country for eight days and I was going to drop her of in Salt Lake City airport. She now says she can't go. I am debating to go alone. I have no problem doing the trip alone but I am reluctant to be away from my honey for 24 days+. I keep going back and forth with this. Dammmm!!!

Post edited by: cruiser, at: 2007/07/23 20:47

Nope
Married 28yrs and my wife is my best friend. Truth be known the only one that would put up with me LOL.
Anyway she was supposed to fly out and meet me. I really want to go but would like to have her along to share the experience. Anyway it would be a one shot deal and can't see myself doing it again. So she would never get the chance to do it if I do it now. One the other hand if I don't do it this year don't know if I will be able to do it at a later date. Tough choice at least for me.

I feel for you cruiser, as I'm in Mexico myself. Sandy roads kept me from bringing my girlfriend ( the roadie), so I can't wait to get back home and ride next month. As for your dilema, I agree, GO WEST YOUNG MAN, GO WEST. 24 days isn't so long in the grand scheme of things and CO has some killer riding.

I'm on the other side in Puerto Penasco. My mother has semi-retired here and we came all the way from NC to see her. Two weeks here should change my outlook enough to get me through the next year. A nice break before the screamin and yellin starts as I coach a youth football league. Hope all your plans work out cruiser, no matter which derection you head.

Re:Back from Mexico and ready to ride 4 Years, 10 Months ago
I called all over my area and went on the web for tire websites. My dealer called three suppliers. Nobody had a white wall tire for the front of the bike. No Metzler, Bridgestone or Dunlap I finally found a dealer 50 miles away that had a whitewall Dunlap. I went out and bought it. I am now running a Metzler rear and Dunlap front. I had to pick up my bike from my dealer since I left it with them. So I drove up with my car left the car took the bike to a dealer 50 miles away and then came home to wait for the wife to get home from work so she could drive me to get the car that I left at the first dealer.
When I got to the dealer to pick up my car I thanked him for his help. He told me that there is a national shortage of tires. It seems like the manufactures last year realized that the economy was getting soft and the manufactures cut the production. I feel like it is Russia with the bread lines years ago.
Anyway it looks like I will be going across country or that is the plan unless I get home sick and turn aroound near Chicago.
