Weather permiting, what about top of Mount Washington, never been, heard its an attention getter though. Coastal Route, Old Orchard Beach, up route 1, right on black point road, back road it to Two Lights Park, its the most photographed light house in USA. Maybe Talk to some of the local Yami shops and see if they are willing to do something. They are spead out enough. If that don't work I know enough watering holes to keep us busy. And for the iron butts we can go to Cape Breton.
I've done the Mt. Washington ride before, defiantly interesting.
The day I did it, it was a beautiful calm 70 degree day at the bottom.
On top it was 34 with 32 mph winds. Still a ride I enjoyed and the view is unbelievable.

I'm about 12 miles from Mt. Washington Auto Rd. you have to choose your day to go up there (weather permittig) There can be a huge temperature change from bottom to top and is about a 2 hour drive to Arundel all good riding. Rte. 1 is beautiful with lots of stop and go traffic in some areas.
I believe Owl's Head has a great bike museium?

Just back from Bentleys and I must say a great time was by all! Be back there Memorial Day weekend and I cant wait to go back! Got to Throw a few back with Bentley himself on Saturday night....what a cool mofo he is lol.
Decisions decisions....so may rides to do so little time.
Took a ride on Saturday to a new place that opened about 30 miles away called the Iron Tail Saloon. Very cool place and very biker friendly I might add. The former manager of Bentleys has ventured out on his own and created this ultra cool hot spot....I already cant wait to get back there!
While I was up there I picked up this little handbook called ride Maine. Fingered through it quickly but it lists some cool looking rides around the southern Maine Coast and the various lighthouses around the area. check out a link to the mag below. Check out the southern Maine section and be sure to read the little write up about Bentleys!
http://www.ridemaine.net
Through the woods, the mountains or the ocean.....Some of the best riding in the entire country is right here in this little part of heaven!
Where to go?.....i dont think we can go wrong whereever we decide! Most definatly looking forward to August and sharing many great memories with all my new friends!
BTW....My best memories happen right there in the campground!

any ideas for a ride yet all I realy see for events is a bike show at Lou's power sports in Nobleboro on Saturday. That is about a 2 hour ride north along the cost. Great sites but not sure about the turn out at Lou's it's a small shop with no web site.
Hey Coot were will you be picking up the thruway (90)?
Hi Dave, Can't sleep tonight so here I am, Yes I will was thinking of that way. The other way would be Rt 84 thru CT and the traffic around waterbury and hartford is a real pain in the ass. Let me know if the wife wants to ride up from the meeting point in the car which my wife is bringing.
It's pouring rain here right now and I hope the summer improves, been real shit here sofar.

Hiya drkstr, insomnia tonight here I am. I was just thinking about the M&G today. Thats about all I can do lately is think about riding cause the weather is total garbage except for a few days last week. I bookmarked the link you posted and will start looking at it. Got the scoot back togeather and it never ran better, Just need a little co-operation from mother nature.

Hey Coot.....No insomnia...just a third shifter here!
Had an awesome weekend up north. I also wanted to ride up there but the weather was cold and raining. Lots of cars up there but not many bikes.
Supposed to rain for the rest of this week...
Look at it this way....it cant get any worse!

Hey all......
Just a reminder to all those contemplating attending and maybe some new members who havent heard of it yet.....
Rode up there for the long weekend on Friday morning. The sun was shining and the first unofficial weekend of summer was upon us.The ride north took about 3 hours and as you would guess the bike ran flawless!
Hung out all weekend with friends in the campground. Took a great ride to see most of the sites in the great state of Maine during the days and partied in the campground and in the bar by night.
The bike show on Sunday was Phenominal! I won a second place trophy and 50 bucks in the metric division! Had twin lobsters for 18 bucks and watched an ass kicking southern rock band at the bar sunday afternoon!with no exageration there had to be a thousand bikes at one point during the afternoon!
Jumped on the bike this morning about 9 oclock and rode 3 hours south back home. Put a little over 600 wonderful miles on the bike and have a sunburn and a half to prove it!
Bentleys is alive and well my friends....cannot wait to share it with you all in August!

I noticed quite a few new members in the northeast the last couple fo months or so. If any of you are thinking about attending, PLEASE book asap as it can get a little crazy trying to get a place on the fly.

Live local, got lodging covered. Drkstr, curious what good sites you saw on your ride in Maine. Maybe the next time you are in the neighborhood we could get together and try a couple different rides and offer them to the group as options for the M&G.
