I've ridden every day this week in NC and love it. I stay out of the city, though. Stop lights suck at 100 degrees. My advice: if you are gonna ride in the heat, stay on longer trips and avoid city driving. I even have a different route to work to avoid lights.

I ride year round. That includes hot days. And cold ones. Rode every day this week. If I only rode on days that were picture perfect, I'd be missing a lot of good riding. I own 2 riding jackets, a summer mesh from power trip, and a winter 3/4 from Joe rocket. Both Synthetic. Leather just doesn't cut it in this heat, and gets (& stays) cold in the winter. I really think the proper gear makes riding year round a lot easier. Ride on boys, it's part of what makes owning a bike so rewarding, get on it and go!BB

BB you’re the MAN!
I took my bike out last Sunday and it was 95+ with 90% humidity and you
can keep that. I like colder weather better, as I can put more on then I can
Legally take off.....

Dang stright; rode all week in 100+ and last night on the way home from the 2nd job (NC state employee so need 3 jobs to stay even) got cought in the gust front of a big storm about 9:30 p.m. and had to give it up for 1/2 an hour 'cause the rain was horizontal and the wind was moving me from lane to lane. At 62 I could use a little less adventure at night, but what the heck, if I wanted to drive a car I wouldn't have my scooter. Wife still asks, "your not taking the motorcycle are you?" "Why do you ask," I respond? "Because its raining, cold, hot, etc." she says. "And your point is," I ask? Then I got to duck her swing 'cause she don't like a smartass much.

Setting the record straight: I don't believe I'm More of a rider just because I ride all the time. But I enjoy it enough to where I don't Typically allow the weather to decide for me if I'll ride or not. And I do believe that if more folks jumped on their scoots and rode them when they first thought otherwise because it was too Hot/cold/wet/dry/dark/sunny/ETC... They would find that they had a better ride than expected. I also live where riding year round is a viable option, as the weather/temps here typically aren't that extreme. Just a couple thoughts.BB

I found one thing that makes a huge difference in riding in heat that I normally don't like. Getting paid for it! Plus mileage. 3 times this week I had to run parts out to job sites. Could have taken a company van with AC. Took the bike instead.
