Fuel mileage decline 6 Years, 6 Months ago
I have a 2005 Star. V&H Longeshots, BAK, K&N filter. The bike was rejetted by the dealer at delivery. I have averaged 40+ miles to the gallon since the bike was new in March. My mileage has decreased to 30,31 in the last week. I have made no changes to the bike.
Any ideas on what has happened?

If you live in colder climes I think it is pretty natural...I am having the same issues, as is my wife with her VStar 650 Classic..

My take is the fuel is colder and therefore does not expand as much...more fuel is being dumped into the carb as a result of the lack of expansion and, thus, your mileage decreases...noticing a slight smell of gasoline too?

This might not be a highly technical explanation but I think it may be the case I went from near 50 to 38.5 my last tank

regards, Ted

You'll run richer as it gets colder.

Try turning your PMS in.
