BAK Mod but no Pipe! 7 Years, 9 Months ago
Folks

Gidday. I have a 2005 Roadie Midnight Star, 10 days old 1,200 miles, and its damn fine.

I have done stage 1 pipe mods, this was great, freeing the weld was a BUGGER but otherwise went well 6x 1/2inch in each pipe sounds groooovie not at all loud just deep rumble "perfect".

Now I'm interested in fitting a BAK, my questions are
1. Can I do this fine and still re-jet at this time but with the stock pipe with stage 1 mods,
2. Do I need the rev-unlimitr or dyna on 04/05, I had read elsewhere that the rev cut-oof was smoother and didnt have the dramatic cut-off of 99-03.

3. Am I wasting my money just dong a BAK upgrade without new pipe. According to Yamaha Speedster 03 brochure seems air kit alone is fine.

Okay thats all folks,

Cheers

1. You can put the BAK on with stock Stage 1 pipes but you will need to re-jet. I had the same setup and it ran real bad using the stock needle.

2. You don't need the rev limiter or Dyna unless you're always racing. On those occasions when I go flat out from a light, I hit the limit but otherwise I don't notice and rarely rev it that high.

3. The BAK upgrade will be noticeable and you don't need the pipes but you will notice a difference when you put on more free-flowing pipes.
