I have the stock seat on my Roadie (2005) and the problem is the pressure on my tailbone. After an hour I can feel pain, especially if I lift off of it. After a 6000 mile ride it took three weeks for the pain to go away.

With the ED, it looks like the way it leans back and then has a rise that it will put pressure on my tailbone too. I sit forward on the stock seat to reduce the pressure. My arms are not long so sitting closer with ED would be nice.

Falcore, the pics riceburner has are great and show what I believe is the biggest problem with the stock seat. The stock seat has a crown to it to make it easy to cover without wrinkles or extra stitching. That crown puts pressure on the tailbone. With ER Dody seats the seat is dished. This should put the pressure on the sit bones and not the tail bone. Makes for a lot more work to cover the seat, though.

These pics by riceburner best show the difference:

Stock seat tailbone: http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s349/chiefriceburner/071.jpg

Erdody big touring tailbone: http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s349/chiefriceburner/072.jpg

Erdody lowrider tailbone: http://i510.photobucket.com/albums/s349/chiefriceburner/070.jpg

I'm amazed you've lasted as long as you have with the stock seat. My stocker came off as soon as I got home from bringing the bike home from the dealer. ('course that was a 1000 mile ride home )

1st off welcome to the clinic Harley. 2nd dont buy the Day Tripper if your looking for any long term comfort for your girl. If your just taking short rides in town she might be ok but wonder why you did not just keep the stock seat on the bike. As far as comfort for You, You will be pushed a little closer to the bars and notice some improvement in the seating, but not enough to justify the price. I would say your best option is going to be an Erdody seat, best investment I ever made and most comfortable I or the wife have ever rode on. If you are interested in knowing more about the Erdody Design line of seats pm me and I will get You all the information You need to make an informed choice on a seat.

Thank you for the advise, I should have said I am tall and skinny and need a seat that is less bulky and hopefully put me in a more relaxed stance the two piece is just to bulky for me.

Do you know if the mustang day tripper would do that for me ?

Thanks Rick
