Dowel pins 6 Years, 5 Months ago
After you remove the valve cover and valve cover spacer to adjust the valves, place some Loctite cylindrical bond on the dowel pins to keep them in place while the parts are reassembled.
The dowels are a slip fit and could fall out easy.
I found this out the hard way,one dowel fell out and found it's way down to the bottom of the cranck case.

If you recall I did a post earlier about changing the lifters and adding adjustable pushrods.Well this is what happened when I reassembled the engine.
One of the dowels fell out and I did not hear it hit the floor.I looked for that dowel for days!I finally figured that it fell down thru one of the oil passages. Those go all the way down to the crankcase.
I had to remove the front cylinder and use a telescopic magnet and search down around the bottom of the crankcase and crankshaft.Luckily I found it.
