#402197 woodster (User) Junior Boarder Posts: 185 Transfer Case Oil 1 Year, 10 Months ago   I'm going to change my transfer case oil soon and was just wondering if there is anything I need to know about oil. Manual suggests SAE 80 API Gl-4 Hypoid Gear Oil. I notice you can buy synthetic gear oil. Should I go for the synthetic as long as it meets/exceeds API standards? Anything else to be aware of? I'm just thinking of the friction reduction additives that we steer clear of in our engine oil. Over 40K on the bike with no issues at all.
