Thank you Stocked. This would be my first ride so I would really enjoy riding up from Phoenix with someone that could give me some guidance. Are you up for that? Danimal

No problem man. I'm looking forward to it. Let's try and hook up via phone/email some time before the first so that we can head up together, maybe we can get Robert and DK in for that ride also if they are not heading up earlier. I'm planning on heading into Prescott the morning of the 1st. The ride getting there is awesome and that time of the year is just perfect.

I would love to join in the festivities for the trip. Unfortunately, I've got a commitment on 9/30 out in L.A. Depending on what you guys are thinking for Saturday & Sunday, I may be able to pound the road Sat. morning and meet up with everyone Saturday afternoon.

Gram/Danny - If I make it out, I'd definitely like to camp with you guys if that's alright?

My first thoughts were for a Saturday afternoon meet up so that just might work out for you. I was figuring I would have some fun getting there and then meet up in the afternoon, maybe take another ride after that and then hang for the evening in Prescott. Ride in the AM after breakfast on Sunday and then head home for me.

Thanks Gram and Robert. I like the Yarnell hill, Jerome, Prescott run, it has lots of twisties and some very scenic riding in usually good weather. I bet if we look at it right we can get Oak Creek on the tail end of it as we are heading back and have it still be a short ride so we have time to gather and BS.

I'll be traveling the rest of August and all of September on the road so I'll be ready for a ride come the first of October.

Stocked,
I agree on Yarnell hill...the last time I rode that was a couple years ago on that ride that we tried to coordinate with you. It was one of the first group rides I'd been on, and I wasn't leading. I think I still owe you an apology because I think we missed you waiting for us at that underpass. I owe you a cold one, at least! THAT was the ride where a newbie rider, a gal on her brand new 650 got off in the gravel on one of the outside turns near the top of the hill and laid her fresh bike down. She got a little beat up, and an ambulance ride home.

I'll take you up on the cold one , but it's all good. I remember you writing later that day about your friend going down and getting a little messed up. Hope she's back in the saddle.

I have no problem with anyone wanting to camp with us. I have not figured out what camp grounds are in the area but I will post it once we decide where we are going to camp out.

I'll look for a name and contact info of a place we used once. It's an off road riding park that has day camping and overnight camping as well. we have also used the BLM land that sits on Mingus Mountain and right across the street there is a small campground and then more BLM land behind that. That one is located about 7 or 8 miles up the hill from Jerome but the BLM stuff is very basic just wilderness camping, the small campground has some facilities.

Here's one I found closer and has restrooms rather then an outhouse bathroom.
