http://www.ElectroSport.com has electrical parts, high output stators, and HID lights, for Road Star Cruisers, along with many other makes and models.

Like so many upgrade suppliers, I see the 1600 listed...no 1700.

Earl,

I have recently written an article for this website on Road Star stators and generators. I'm no electronic expert, but I can do research pretty well.

I have learned that the ElectroSport stators output roughly the same juice as the later model R*s (29+ amps or so)--MAX OUTPUT.

The 1999-2004 (yes, that's right--'04) bikes only produced 21 amps max. The 2005-2007 (haven't seen the specs for the 2008 R* yet) produce 31 amps max.

Sooooo, if you have a 2004 or earlier, you can attach more electrical accessories to your bike by upgrading to an ElectroSport (www.electrosport.com) or an O.E.M. stator.

In any case, regardless of model year, all the stators are direct bolt up. Which reminds, me: Early-on, when ElectroSport began offering stators for our bikes, the bolt holes didn't exactly line up (two of the three holes did). I understand that they have since corrected this.

Full article coming soon.

Hope this helps for now.
