If thats the case I will keep my carbed bike. I get 40 to 45 just kicking around. On tours I have got as high as 58 in the mountains.. when I ride with my grandson on the back I get better mpg. I guess it is because I ride a little easier...Got 47 last weekend..

As I said had my grandson with me. About a 180 round trip. Good roads not much traffic.. usually around 40 to 45.. I go 58 in Colorado, Between Lake city and Buena Vista! High altitude some places over 10k ft! Got to love the CV carb. My son got 62 on that ride....My brothers 08 Royal Star Venture got 50mpg. But he is feeding 98 horses...

That's about all I get too. The only time I care about it is when it is 50 miles to the gas station and I only have 1 gal left.

O.K. Butch, I'll bite. How is your carb set up?

I realize we're at different altitudes but still the info should be good for comparison. I also can refer to that info next time I'm in the mountains of N.Y.

Sorry you Fellas had to get all upset over this. HOPEFULLY I haven't started it up again.

Looks like in your pic you have the same air cleaner I do.. Seriously I don't remember the needle settings, but have a 187.5 main and a 40 primary... By the way, I don't every get upset. I just consider it a good discussion. I am a mellow fellow. Life is short, enjoy it.

I thought a 187.5 was a bit large, but i guess it won't matter til the needle gets out of the hole, huh?

I was running a 40 pilot and 175 main. Just went back to a stock pilot and lifted the needle to 4th slot. Gonna see how that does. Seems quicker off the line without a lot of throttle. I just want it to make the best use of the gas $$ that I put into it. I have no interest in "racing", but don't have it to 'piss away'.

As always, Thanks

That is what they tell me, but I will not screw with it, as good as it runs, and the gas mileage it gets... So don't fix it if it ain't broke..
