Filter Question For Mongo 6 Years, 4 Months ago  
I was wondering about the quality of the ST 7317 oil filter you talk about in your article about changing oil,can you tell me anything about it.If anyone else knows about this filter please respond.

I've been using that filter since my last oil change. So far I've experienced no problems with it. It is alot cheaper then the Yamaha filter and also a bigger filter.

Hi Thom, is this a SuperTech filter? Where did you buy it? Same diameter and threads but longer filter body??

Hi Al,
Yep it is Super Tech, got it at WalMart. Same thread and diameter with a longer body then the Yamaha stock filter. Can't remember the exact price but I think it was only a couple of bucks. It seems to preform well, at least I haven't had any problems with it.
