That place looks pretty cool. I'll have to check it out. We do a lot of Tent camping but I prefer stuff up in the trees. This looks like it might be perfect for what we have planned for October though.

Stocked, are you camping. If so maybe you can show me how to get what I need on my bike? I love to camp but was thinking hotel. Only because any gear I have is designed for a family. It would truly be an adventure riding with an eight man tent on my bike ) I don't mind sleeping under the stars but getting soggy means pain for me. I'm not real old but I do have heavy mileage .......Danimal

Called this campground and was advised that they do not allow tent camping. So going to plan B, which I hope won't split us into different locations.

Was advised to investigate the following:

Willow Lakes (private)

nat forest:
Yavapi
White Spur

and nat forest but real busy:
Links Lake
Hilltop

If anyone has time to jump into this and look for these campgrounds please do. If not, I will be getting to them in the next day or so.

Thanks,

Gram

Just checked into all of these. I can't find camping at Willow or Watson lakes. They appear to be day use facilities.

The remainder are National forest campgrounds. None accept reservations (first come first served), and none have shower facilities. So if we could find shower facilities somewhere close by, we could potential use them. Without a shower I get too ripe, so its a must have for me.

Still investigating.

Im game. Me and the wife will ride up from Las Vegas for the weekend. If Momma comes there's no question about camping. When she married me room service was in the prenuptuals!! So, count us in- we will be staying at the hotel. (Besides,... I'm all about the hotel bar )

Mick, which hotel? I would really like the use of a bar and my own bathroom. Call me what you will but I enjoy cleanliness in a big way. Plus any time on the bike and I'm one big soggy, hairy guy. Thanks...Dan

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am planning on being there. Since I can't find a reasonable campground for camping, will try to find a reasonable hotel/motel near Whisky Row.

Dan I will not be camping. If I stay the night on Saturday I'll try and stay at the St.Michael there is a link to it on page four of this thread. Right now I have a motocross race scheduled for the 2nd in Surprise so it looks like I'll be just doing the one day thing on Saturday. Sine I am on the road the whole month of September there will not be too much time fro me to practice so I might pull out of that race, if I do then it'll be the St. Michael hotel for me.
