What do you all do when it rains. The current forecast is for rain the entire weekend in Prescott and Phoenix? I know that the weather could change before then, but sogginess means pain for me! I can't afford rain gear on such short notice and Yarnell hill in the rain sounds a little rich for me. Those twists and turns can be challenging when it's dry. Just curious.....Dan

I took a trip 4 years ago to Monterey and back...and on the way back it rained down the 101 from Monterey to Ventura (280 mi). $20 rain suit from Target under my leathers (water proofed with mink oil) kept me water tight.
If Grand Canyon is too much for some, we can stay more local and visit perhaps Granite Dells, Watson Lake, etc.
I'm open where to meet in the afternoon...maybe on Wiskey Row somewhere? Count me in.

Looks like Charlie Horse is in the lead, so with that in mind I touched base with mkayx, who in turn touched base with Cody, and I also spoke with Danimal, who also has another rider coming with him, and we are all in agreement that the earlier the better. So about 6 of us will be heading up from the Phoenix area around 6am in the morning and taking the scenic route up from there, through Wickenberg and over Yarnell hill into Prescott.
I know there have a been a few people to chime in on here about hooking up in Prescott. DKLAZ, and any others, you are more than welcome to ride up along with the rest of this motley crew on Saturday morning.
Our current plan is to meet up at the QT on the corner of 51st Ave. and Bethany Home rd. at the lovely hour of 5:45am with an intended departure time of 6am. We'll head out to the 60 and onto Wickenberg and other parts up North after that.
For those riders arriving on Friday or earlier it looks like the best time to get everyone together, now, will be later morning on Saturday October 1st.
Charlie Horse had this to say earleir:
This might make a good meeting place...Lone Spur Cafe
106 West Gurley Street, Prescott, AZ 86301-3634
(928) 445-8202 () ‎
Good reviews on Google.
Say 8:30 or 9 am on Saturday????
I like it, anyone else have a better option for breakfast? If we can get a head count we can give them a heads up for a breakfast meet. if not then I think we can meet after breakfast somewhere in the town square area there in Prescott
As far as an early head count with the above mentioned riders and one passenger we are at 6 people right now.
Please chime in.
The only way I will not be there at this pint is if it's pouring Saturday morning when I wake up. The current forecast (according to mkayx) is a 20% chance of rain and I know we are usually better off in the AM around there.
