I promised to keep a few of you up to date on the Bobber build. It's not much, but it sure is fun to play with.

I think I have just about everything welded and mounted where I want it. Still have to finish up the fake oil tank that will hold all the wiring and Lithium battery.

Probably going to drop the motor in this weekend to make sure everything still lines up ok.

Then, tear it all down and paint and put it all back together. Then the wiring fun begins...

You must have a great wife, mine would be pissed if I tried building a motorcycle in the living room.

That does look like a lot of fun, looks like the start of a pretty sweet bike. I will be subscribing to this thread for sure.

Very very nice work.

If you haven't got a battery yet, you should check these out. http://ballisticparts.com/

I just had a rep demo these at the shop, and they were pretty badass. And tiny, easy to tuck away.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive, well-preserved body; rather you should skid in sideways, cold pizza in one hand, beer in the other, body thoroughly trashed, totally worn out, screaming, Yeehaw.\\\\\\

I have loved those old XS650's. I've been through at least 6 of them, from my first... the red and white '72. They were the very best lookin'! I rode that thing 3 times across the country when I was much, much younger!

Looks good man I need to find another project now. I'm still trying to sell the 07 so I have a little change to play with.

Thanks, guys. I'm really having fun with it.

It's come a long way from here.

Lee:
I'll check out the Lithiums. The oil tank should have plenty of room, if I organize everything right.

And, for the record. The bike is in the basement. I would have gotten shot bringing the Bobber into the living room...
