Most any place where they make up hydraulic hose can make you a brake hose, I had mine done at a place called Wood Logging Supply.

Most large brake shops can do it for you.

It won't be a DOT certified hose it will be a hyd hose.

So why does it need to be D.O.T certified? Not arguing, just wondering.
If you had the hose made up by a brake shop, wouldn't the use D.O.T certified anyhow?

To maintain some sort of safety standard. How would you like to find out at 70 MPH that the kid down at the Napa store made your brake line out of fuel line instead of brake line. As far as the brake shop down the road from you making rubber brake lines, ????????? I wouldn't buy them

Here is a cut and paste from an add for Russel brake lines

Russell Performance
Russell Street Legal Brake Line Kits

Replace your spongy, factory rubber brake lines with one of these Russell Street Legal brake line kits. The pre-assembled, steel-braided brake lines provide firmer, more responsive braking by reducing excessive brake pedal travel, which is caused by the expansion of the rubber lines. They also meet strict DOT requirements for street-driven vehicles. These kits come in pre-packaged lengths and include all of the hardware and fittings necessary for installation.

Here is a link to the DOT reg
