The braking on a 1600 with a single OEM setup is not acceptable.
To get the same braking ability with a single setup you will need to at least switch out the OEM setup for a 4 piston calper (1700, R1/^6), an R1/R6 rotor, the Warrior MC and an SS brake line.

I've never done it, but the talk here is that they are a straight-up bolt-on. It sure looks like it would be.
I'll sell it for $50, plus shipping.

Friends of mine have his & hers Harley Duece motorcycles. Hers has twin rotors & his the single rotor set up.
He's a HD mechanic, runs his own shop & very credible.I asked him the differance in braking on the 2 bikes. His reply,..."no differance in braking" "the single rotor set up will wear quicker is all"
That's because both are set up to lock the front wheel. It's all in the master cylinder diameter & being made to be compatable with the calipers.
The twin rotor will out perform the single when it's on the track racing & heavy use,...that's when heat come into play. It shouldn't be an issue for cruising.
I changed to the LHS YZF 6 piston front caliper on my 2004 RS. I have no problem with 2 fingers braking.
