2001 lifter upgrade 6 Years, 3 Months ago  
A couple months ago I went ahead with the adjustable pushrod and Mopar lifter upgrade.I did this because I thought one of the original lifters calapsed and to get rid of the "tick".
After the upgrade I cant say it was any better.After readjusting the valves several times,I had enough.
I took the bike to the dealer yesterday and told the service writer to replace the lifters and go back to the stock set up.
While he was on the computor looking for the lifters,he noted that Yamaha changed the hyd lifter part # for the 2001 Raodstar.I believe the old P/N was 12153-00-00 and has been changed to 12153-10-00.This new P/N is the same # in the 1700 Roadstar motor.
Hopefully this will make the valve train quieter.
