I still have the orginal battery in my 07. know that i'll be needing one soon. What do you guys think about YUSA? And if any of you is using this battery in a 300 amp could you furnish a stock number? if anyone knows of a better battery let me know this also. Thanks guys. MERRY CHRISTMASS to all of you.

The YUSA is a great battery, but I would take a serious look at the 12 cell here.
http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/Ballistic_Performance_Lithium_Batteries_LI_ION_Po_p/ballistic-performance.htm
They last 2-4 times longer, and charge in a tenth of the time of lead acid.I think deadlion has one and is happy with it.

We have the 12-cell Ballistic Lithium batteries for Roadstars at work for $154 + shipping. It's the 12 Cell EVO2 Model (12 Cell EVO2L)
I've been thinking about one for my bike but I just got a new battery last summer so I'll probably move to the Lithium when this one dies.

Old Dog,
I don't see the advantage for that much money.
I've had lead acid's forever with little to no problems. Like Curt, I can get batterys for around 85 - 90 bucks (almost 2 for 1 )

=====================

Yuasa mfgs a good battery, the 310cca version is pt# YTX20HL-BS. (The "H" in pt# = hi CCA ),YTX20L-BS is the std duty OEM 270CCA battery.

BUT Yuasa batteries are high priced ,you can get Deka's new genration ETX20L AGM maint free sealed factory activated hi perf 310cca battery for a lot less at $72.99 from site pasted below vs the Yuasa 310CCA battery at well over $100 that you have to activate yourself.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&vxp=mtr&item=200659060704

Other local stores selling 310cca batteries also charge core fee and tax additong additonal cost not encured from site i listed above so those batteries will be in $110-115 range vs $72.99 to your door for Deka's great 310cca.

I am into 4th yr with that Deka battery, its a good battery and Deka has been mfg batteries for well over 60ys so they know what they are doing.

That battery just started my R* with no problem in 35 deg temp with a stock lower trq starter & 20w-50 syn oil and my Deka AGM maint free factory activated battery is the older version of that same pt# battery that is ratred at a lower 270cca.

I have seen some defective new batteries over the yrs from quite a few battery mfg's but Deka's ETX20L has a very good reputation /good track record so there should be no worries about returns.

BTW,if you decide to buy the Deka just ensure you'r buying the newer version of Deka's ETX20L thats rated at the higher 310CCA & not the older discontinued version of that same battery with same pt# thats rated at 270cca that would be NOS/new old stock that's been sitting arround already a yr old someones trying to unload at a reduced price.

Good luck.

My '06 came with a Yuasa that I got 5 years out of. It was still good when i replaced it but since I was heading out on a big trip, it got replaced "just because". I went with the Odyssey Dry Cell from Batteries Plus. Its only been in since June so its a too soon to have a real opinion on it but so far so good.

Mike, LIGHTNIN referred to the YUSA 310,so that's what I compared. I've not seen one for under $110 in our area or online, what battery are you buying? Even at $100 ( sales tax)+ time and fuel to go go get it.You're still in the area of 110-115,BubbaKahuna posted a great price with shipping,it's is going to give you 30% more cranking power over the 310,and the life of the battery is 2-4 times that of lead acid for another $70.It' just a matter of choice, since no one can say they've had the same battery for the last 15 years. It's new technology and us old dogs are slow to change.

BubbaKahuna you have a PM.

Re:Batteries 5 Months ago
On a side note... With the ballistic LI-ION battery, there's a note that reads:

*NOTE: Developed as a starter battery in a powersports application. If there is a parasitic draw on your powersports vehicle (such as an alarm) we recommend that you disconnect the battery when not in use. If the battery is completely drained the cells can be damaged.

So,could you use that one if you have a radio? And what about the clock on the R*? Would that be a problem?
