Bassani headers installed!! 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hello fellow roadies, it's been awhile since I've been on the clinic, anyway I started my winter project. Finally ordered the Bassani headers, got them from SS Custom Cycle, $418 total to my door! Best price out there I could find and got them in four days. Here's a few pics of the exhaust, also thanks to rphazen for the pics of his installation, made it easier for me to do mine. Next on my list is the hd hardbags, making my own brackets so wish me luck.

nice job on the exaust. how are you going to make your hard bag mounts?if i had to do mine over again i would leave the radiused area between the 2 mounting holes flat so they dont stick up above the bags when mounted.mort

Don't look like you need luck.
Ya got talent!! Nice job!

Edit:
Oh, Not offended at all!
The reason to share the pics is I want folks to benefit from them.

Danny (Hardone2get) shared pics with me of his Freedom pipes with the stock mufflers to get me started.

You used a Yamaha stock muffler? If how did you eliminate the cross over?

Could you explain what all you did to the mufflers?

First its actually two sets of mufflers, both top mufflers were used, reason being that the lower muffler is offset. I separated them by cutting the crossovers close to the muffler to be used, then carefully cutting the bracket that connects them, the rest went by rphazen's pics cutting the inlet and welding on a 1 3/4 pipe adapter and plugging the crossover hole. I had to cut off an inch of the Bassani pipes for two reasons, 1. So the mufflers didn't stick out past the f ender, and 2. To allow the heat shield to insert into the stock muffler. Then I made my own brackets to weld to the muffler to bolt them to tmake he supplied Bassani brackets. I didn't take any pics of the process, too excited about what it was going to look like but I can take some later when I break it down for paint. Hope that helps, if not check out rphazen's pics, the link is by his signature pic.
