What did you do to your RS today? 1 Year, 4 Months ago
|

I am a member of a truck forum and they have a thread like this and I figured I would start one here. It gets a lot of posts over there. Even if you just went on a short ride or just looked at in the garage let us know. Anyway...
I replaced my passing lights, removed the AIS and used some .45's to block the holes, changed the oil and filter, changed the transfer case gear lube, checked the front pulley nut, removed some extra wiring the PO had ran for some LED's, adjusted the handlebars, charged the battery, and then admired it.

Ordered a chrome thunderfire starter, warrior relay, dyna3000, and a barnett sr-2 clutch spring plate. As well as the gaskets that go with the spring. Also ordered some parts for the heads.
Big thanks to timb007 for the hook up with said parts

A cold day today... didn't even wander down to the garage to take a look.

Was thinking of putting apes on her, but not sure which one yet.

Today? Not much. ...I just looked at her and sighed; cuz yesterday, I road her 300 miles, sheered off the shift pedal shaft, Gerry-rigged an emergency lever to get me home using only 3rd and 4th gear, and fried my clutch in the process.
On a positive note, the shaft broke off while making a gas stop, with about 40 other riders around, who quickly came to my aid with the necessary tools and gear to keep me going. And the clutch only started slipping about a mile from home, and didn't completely give out until *just* as I was rolling in to my drive way. *Somebody* up there must be looking out for me.

I had built some experimental baffles, found what I wanted and built the first ones that were to go on permanent a few days ago.
Today I put them in the Samson drags.
Wow! The performance is great and they sound fantastic. I made 5 different sets of baffles, but it was worth it.
Had problems getting the baffles past where Samson welded the bracket on the pipe and the heat raised the metal on the inside.
Here they are on the table ready to go in.
