From Ontario

Being speed related, my guess would be tires as well.

How much tread is left? Can you see any cupping in the treads? Any idea how old they are?
If the answers to any of these is not a good one then it might be worth looking into a bit further.

I would be checking the wheel balance, how worn are the tires, air pressure, then the steering bearings if it has more than 50,000 miles.

The vibration can shake the bike enough to where my vision is blurred. The whole bike just seems to be shaking, the front end remains contrllable so I assume it is not in the front.

I would say you've been steered in the right direction on the wheel/tire issue. Get the rear up off the ground and spin the tire and see if it's out of round. Possibly a separated belt. Whatever it is, for safety's sake I'm not sure I would do anymore riding until I knew what was wrong.

And...

Welcome to the Clinic Masamrus

1. lean condition = heavy vibration in handle bars, floor boards, mirrors.
2. front tire cupping.
3. fork bearings need ajusted or replaced.
4. flats spots in tires.
