In the fall before I put my bike away for the winter,my clutch started to slip after I shifted into 2nd gear. So what is the best clutch out there for my bike?

Seeing as you've made over a thousand posts, I'm assuming you're well aware of the weak stock clutch spring issue?
If it is indeed your clutch, I too am going through this one at this very moment. In fact, I'm waiting on the UPS driver to arrive with my parts as I type this. -The stock Yamaha clutch get's the highest reviews and Yamaha Sports Plaza in Oregon has the best prices on Genuine Yamaha parts I could find:
http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/
They've also got a good deal on the Speedstar Stage IV Clutch Spring, with 25% more clamping force than the stock spring. However, if money is not an issue, go with the Barnett clutch spring upgrade and the stock Yamai clutch.

More than likely all you need is the spring ate. The friction are tuff as nails.
140k and still stok plates. I did modify my spring with a Vkrago1100 plate on top of the stock spring plate 80k miles ago and still works fine

It's been 2yrs since I've been on this site so I'm just now getting back in the mix of things here since my divorce! I have heard about the barnett clutch back then, just wondering if anything else came along since then!

Do a forum search, this subject has recently been beat to death a couple times with tons of great info.
To narrow it down quick most people here in RSC prefer the Barnett repl clutch setup for the R* thats been proven to be a good unit.
But there's also a couple hardy souls (i'm one of them!) that plan to try Yami's hi perf repl speedstar clutch spring with either 20 or 25% additonal clamping force (depending on which version you buy) over the weaker stock R* clutch spring.
The Yami hi perf HD speedstar clutch spring is a plug & play install vs the Barnett repl clutch PP & spring setup thats a little more involved but not that bad either.
