Welcome.... I'm with the others that recommend checking out the 950 or 1100. I started on a Honda Shadow 750 and within 6 months of riding moved up to the Roadstar as I couldnt keep up with all my friends and the bike just wasnt comfortable for the longer rides. My BF and I did a 5,000km road trip from BC to Vegas last year and boy was I glad I had my Roadstar. Once you get riding you don't notice much difference in the weight of the bike but fit is definitely the most important.  |

I got back into it after a 25yr layoff with a Triumph Bonneville (new style) because I had one "Back in the day" I just sold it this past year because I hardly used it after having the R*
It was a great bike to get the feel of biking again with.

I had a 650 about 8 years ago after my first trip I realized I messed up. Great bike for running around town. You sound like you have some experience I would really think about getting the v-star 1100.
