I say go big If you're worried about the weight of the bike, don't be. I had a V Star 1100 before my Road Star and that was only good enough for a day of Hwy 55mph. Cruising to Sturgis on the Interstate was downright painful. I wish I had listened to my elders when buying my first bike, the 1100 was tough to sell. Anyway, my .02

Back in my younger days (teens) I was the proud owner of a Suzuki crotch rocket. In my 20's, I had a Honda Shadow, which I unfortunately laid down once. Ouch. Now, a decade later, I am ready to give a Yami a try, which means I am in the market for a well, but gently used V-star 650. I am thinking it would be a good starter bike for a woman.

The best and longest ride I have ever been on (as passenger) was the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, and would highly recommend it. I guess it is a complete different experience than riding it yourself, nevertheless still a ton of fun.

I am glad to finally have joined this site. Anyways, just wanted to quickly introduce myself, and I look forward to learning a ton, as well as go on great future rides.
