Thanks guys. I meant mounting (the choke knob) on the left side, but typed right side. I just thought that by removing the old bracket it would be easier to run my fuel line to the carb, that's all. I've got the choke knob mounted on the upper portion of the bracket now & will probably leave it.

Also in case anybody would like to know....The little chrome "L" bracket that comes with the 8" convex semi truck mirrors from NAPA (or any place else) works perfect for the choke knob mount. All you have to do to it is cut a slot for the choke cable to slide into it & drill another hole in the upper fuel pump mount so the "L" bracket can be attached to it with two bolts. Hope this makes sense.

If anybody wants pictures I would be glad to try & post some after work tonight>
