jeckes, please do, the owner is really a nice guy and will square you away. Make sure you talk to him to find out if your engine guards will work with his lowers!!! Kai

I went to their website. Wow, looks bad, especially big red text making excuses about why they don't answer the phone, etc. That would put me off right there.


Be sure to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well.

Your not the 1st person I have seen that has had issues with the fit of the TJD Fairing. TJD's answer was that the Harley fairing is a better fit for the Road Star than his universal. With that, My question is, when you ordered the fairing, did you clearly tell them it is for a Road Star. If you did, they should have recommended there Harley Fairing and not the Universal...them knowing that the Universal was not the best fit on the Road Star. I would go back to TJD and tell them they did a poor job of making a fairing recommendation...especially when they knew... They knew, and they should make it right. Crap, when I sell used parts... I tell people if they don't like them or if they don't think what I sold them was what I represented...then send it back and I will give them there money back... You know what... I have never got anything back yet... and that includes everything I have sold on ebay.

The package arrived today 1/25 nearly a month after being ordered. Upon opening it, my first impression was it was a little less finished than I expected but looked sturdy and reasonably well made. I then looked for the hardware and found two rusted pieces of "L" shaped metal and nothing else. No instructions, not even pre-drilled holes for mounting either the hardware or the windshield; nada. I decided I would try to dry fit it to the bike only to discover the opening was 8 inches for a 8 1/2 inch stock head light. When I called to complain I was told I didn't know what I was doing and the owner had personally installed one on a roadstar. According to him, the opening is slightly over 8 1/2 inches. Not so on the piece I got. I asked if I could have been shipped the wrong one and was told that was impossible since he only has one. Five minutes later he reversed himself and said "Oh, you ordered the universal not the Harley; both will fit your bike but the Harley works better since it sits flush. The one you have has to be mounted over the headlight." I did so to see and there was nearly 10 inches of fairing "tunnel" in front of the headlight. I commented this was equivilent to giving a man with a 48" waist a pair of size 30 jeans and saying "they fit; you just need to wear them around your knees". I was then offered a Harley fairing instead. I said I would prefer my money back including my shipping. I was told I would need to pay to ship it back and I would not be getting the orginal shipping back either so in total based on his bad information both on his site and on the phone I will be out $150. This man is by far one of the worst businessmen I have ever dealt with! Buyer Beware!

I agree and I did say up front it was for a roadstar. I have always made sure anyone that does business with me is fully aware of any issues up front as well. I guess that is why I assumed the same would be true when I called to ask questions before placing the order. Oh and it is 4pm NY time 1 pm in Utah where there shop is and I still haven't heard back from them. If he does make good I will let everyone know.

Oh, yeh, tell him we're a very active site, and he's invited to come on as a guest and take a look. We've got his number!

If he every calls me back I will ... I think I may have to have a few friends that are on HD sites warn their members as well...

I second that! The longer he takes to reply, means the more damage you should do to his business At least you will get some kind of self satisfaction out of it
