starter problems 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago  
with a new battery installed, i get all lights and electronics functioning when I push the starter button, but only a click. No starter rotation at all. Prognosis please?

Make sure you wires are clean and tight, Check the main fuse on the relay to make sure its not corroded or loose.

Check that your battery connections are clean and tight at both ends.

try and bypass relay with a wire strait to starter to see if it is ok.

+1 on checking connections. I had the exact same problem when I did the starter upgrade...and turns out it was a loose connection that looked like it was tightened down.

If it turns out that tha starter is bad i have a black starter on the shelf if you end Up needing it and you have a black but Check the wires, try to jump the relay then have the battery load tested first

Also make sure that the kickstand switch is functioning correctly. If its not will cause bike to act like in gear.

The electric grease for about $2 at the auto parts store works reall good as well to aid in getting a good connection.

Just reporting back. After checking all of the recommendatoins(thank you all)it turns out that the starter relay had gone bad. Much cheaper fix than a new starter for sure!
