Pulley nut question 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hey guys. I am working on my 31 tooth sprocket and I am attempting to take off the pulley nut. Its pretty tight...I am using my breaker bar with a cheater bar and still no give...

Is the thread pattern normal or opposite? I ust want to make sure before I keep on.

The reason I am asking this is because the nut is so tight...and on a car the flywheel nut spins clockwise to loosen instead of counter clockwise.

If I remember right it is regular threads righty tighty lefty loosie. If you are using a breaker bar it should come loose. Make sure you have the tab washer bent down.

it is a BITCH to get loose, make sure washer tab is bent off nut, and make sure someone is standing on the rear bike.

I dont know guys...my dad is by no means a small man and it just wont budge...I put a bit of PB blaster on it to let it soak. Not to much.

Our impact gun is a joke so I know that wont work. I figured a breaker bar and a cheater on top of that would work...

You were fortunate... it can be a bear, and a good impact wrench is the far better way to go.

Now, wait 'til you try to torque it to spec! It's a two-people job. One, just to secure the bike, as it will want to roll while you tighten!!!
