New to the site and this is my first thread. Looking for some advice. I'm a female rider - about 130 pounds and 5'5". My first purchase was 400cc bike - which I rode for 7 years. Then moved on to an 1100cc cruiser which I rode for another 5 years - a Yamaha Virago (still riding this one). It's very quick, and nimble bike, registering in at about about 500 pounds. These are the 2 I've owned, but I learned to ride at around 12 years old on friends and relatives bikes. I'm in my late 30's now. I'm really interested in the Road Star S as it's the closest Japanese equivalent to a Fat Boy - and I like the styling/specs/etc. But the bike is about 740 pounds and 1700cc .... really questioning if its too big? I sat on the bike and my feet sit firmly on the ground. I also tested the turning radius of the bars and they are comfortable from a seated position for me. I can move/roll the bike forward and backward from sitting position. The dealer does not allow for test drives. If it falls, I'm NOT going to be able to pick it up - but I can't pick up the Virago either. Net/net - is the bike too big/powerful at 1700cc and 740 pounds? I see plenty of women on FatBoys/Softail Deluxes and they are close in weight/power. The 2011-2012 HD's line up are all 1700 now (w/exception of Sporters). Any advice is appreciated.
