Oil Pressure Gauge 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago

I've just purchased an oil pressure gauge and started research to install. Went to my local brake line guys and they made me a rubber line that connects to gauge and a banjo bolt setup to screw into my oil drain plug. good so far, eh?
then along comes a mechanical type friend of mine and tells me this won't work cause there's no pressure down there and besides I really want to know that the oil is getting to top of engine therefore you need to "tap into " oil gallery somewhere where there is actually oil pressure...At this point I said "pass". I need help. does anyone have a place where I can connect this banjo bolt setup to my 1600 so that I can tell I have oil pressure? thanks
