A couple of buddies came by the other day and while I was waiting on them I was letting my Roadie warm up because it hadn't been started in a week. When they pulled up the HD rider got out of the car saying "I thought we were going to a chinese resturant with all that rice I could smell cookin'"!!!! Of course he's the one that when we ride somewhere I always put paper towels under his beautiful ultra so it won't leave oil stains on the concrete!! Take no prisoners!!Cut no Slack!! we are always on each other like that!

Thats how it should be - if we all rode identical bikes it would be boring. A few years back me and a few buddies got into four wheelin. We all went at the same time and bought Honda Foreman 450's. Well it wasn't long before we all customized ours to fit us. Even then, with 4 guys riding the exact same bike, it came down to what tires or performance mods we had. I can remember having competitions with each other seeing who could get through certain mud holes and we would rag the ones that couldn't make it and make fun of their tires or whatever they had that wasn't the same as one of the others. It was all in good fun and we had a blast. I miss those days!

The whole Harley thing does get mentioned way too much. I think many are a little envious and it is easier to make fun than it is to actually admit they wish they rode a different bike. I say who gives a $h!t what you ride. If the jokes are in fun between buddies it is one thing, but having an issue with someone because they choose to ride a different bike is just stupid. If the OP came across the same dude on a Honda this thread probably wouldn't have ever been started.

I like all kinds of bikes. Currently being responsible with 4 little children my RS was and is an excellent choice for price, reliability and comfort. Excellent stress reliever for the wife as well! The harley engine is excellent. No bones about it. A guy I work with sees I have an HD hoodie. Thinks it's funny that I don't ride a harley but have a harley sweater. THAT is absolutely hilarious to me. Puts a bad rap on the majority of riders out there who don't give a damn what you ride just as long as you have your knees in the breeze. Growing up in Sturgis you would think you'd get hassled by lots of people on anything but a Harley. I've yet to have many encounters of hatin (except dork at work) lol

Some wanna-be H-D bikers at work gave me s@it,when I road my '83 Honda magna to work, then I bought my '03 Road Star back in October,2011.
I took off my tags of my other bike and rode it to work for awhile, these dudes came up to me and acting all conceded said"About time you got yourself a Harley!"I asked them how did they know? they told me we herd it when we were walking across the road to come in to work,I told them come out at lunch time and hear it! They said O.K.,at lunch I went out and started it before they got there and when they came out and saw that it was a Road Star, doing the thump, they turned around and walked back inside,I took it for a ride up town and when I came back at lunch, I probably looked like a possum grinning from ear to ear, knowing I got over on them, since then we been pretty cool, they don't give me s@it anymore, and we sometimes ride together, although,I never volunteer to lead the pack, and don't want to...I think that sometimes these a-oles really get carried way with the H-D image they have to maintain.
I just sit back and laugh. Back in the day"I owned a '69 H-D Sportster and had a big ego when I was 16, A '83 H-D Low rider when I was 22,and had been knocked around a bit for running my mouth about bikes, as you get older you get wiser, the newby's you saw at the leather shop could of been my friend's daughter and son-n-law,this guy just traded his crouch rocket for an H-D sportster, and won't even talk to me any more...all I can say,I don't even treat him any different, eventually he will come back down to earth, but for now he must be soaring with the eagles...

Re:Met a new new Harley rider 1 Year, 1 Month ago
true story.......I was at a local watering hole one evening and got chatting with this guy who seemed friendly enough. (At the time I rode an old shovelead) we talked about our bikes for a while when he asked me to take a walk outside so he could see mine.

We get outside and my Indigo Blue FLH stodd out in the crowd like it always did.

The guy looks at me with a dead on staright face and said......I thought you said you had a Shovelhead,That a Harley!

I took the time to educate him......It just goes to prove that 20 miles and 20 grand doesnt make you a biker!

Ask me about my attention deficit disorder or my pie or my cat. A dog. I have a bike. Do you like TV? I saw a rock. Hi.

Ain't that the truth.

I had a 95 springer soft tail I purchased new. By the time I put a forward kit on it, and some Kury flip out peg thingies to get the extra inch or so there also, it finally fit me. Up until then, I felt like a little kid on a trike, with his knees pointing out into the wind. I was surprised, when I climbed on this bike, and it fit. With my feet on the boards, my knees are right against the tank.
Now having said this, I always get a chuckle, when I see 'Big Bear's' sig pic. He is a big boy.
