Ours weren't engineered for HP, but for tq, which is why they first ran out of breath, and was limited to 4,250 rpms.

I would rather have it that way. Keeps me from having to buy more expensive gas.

Yup, sure enough, there they are... 87 hp and 107 torque. Certainly not factory specs, so must be there own dyno findings on a 2010 they tested.

Just seems so high!

Some of you fellas dynoed your bikes. You ever roll up numbers like those?

Really makes NO sense. The numbers on Yamaha's own site don't even come close.

'99-'03 1600s are 52 hp, 87 ft lbs.

Wow..my 03 only has 52hp? 1600cc's? That's embarrassing. Guess we can quit making fun of other brands.

Don't get me. Wrong....I'm talking HP. I ride a friends fat boy all the time (he always wants to ride my Roadie) Trust me...a fat boy is pale compared to a Roadie. You'll find that out after about 50 miles.

Im gonna have to agree with Erbman, mine dynoed at 70 hp, 100 ft lbs,of course that is with the stubbies, forcewinder and PC-V, didnt dyno prior to modsblt

Guys, you need to realize dyno hp/trq #'s are going to be less then at the crank hp/trq #'s for obvious reasons.

So hp/trq #'s given by the motorcycle mfg's are often at the crank but most guys posting hp/trq #'s here in RSC are dyno tuning hp/trq #'s where the transmission, transfer case,& even drive belt eat up some hp/trq to drive them before getting actual hp/trq @ the rear wheel which is lower.

Scott, I don't think so... the numbers reported here previously, unless someone says otherwise, were all done on a dyno at the rear wheel.

Er, right, guys???
