THE COYOTE 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
California :

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail.

A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor's dog, then bites the Governor.

The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie"Bambi" and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

He calls animal control . Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.

He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $200 testing it for diseases.

The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.

The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote awareness program" for residents of the area.

The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The State spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.

PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit against the State.

SOUTH DAKOTA :

The Governor of South Dakota is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks his dog.

The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.

The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that, my friends, is why California is broke and South Dakota is not.

I'm Canadian but I find this too funny! It has been studied and found that places with concealed carry permits have lower crime yet most places prohibit their citizens from carrying firearms. In Canada, only law enforcement is allowed. I'd be willing to bet that for every legal gun carried, there are 8, if not more, illegal guns owned by people who are up to no good. Let us defend ourselves and get the illegal guns out of the hands of trouble.

Rick Perry, the Gov. of Texas did shoot a coyote that was attacking his dog. I never thought about the financial implications if he hadn't shot him but this is Texas not California.

By the way, the difference between a License and a Permit is, with a permit system, the king, constable, dictator, party official, mayor, judge, chief of police, sheriff, what have you runs and NCIC check on you, or just goes to church, lions club rotary, golfing, gets discounts at your store, whatever, and you are deemed worthy to carry a firearm by the ruling class.

In a License based system, you must meet a pre-qualification standard, pass the NCIC background check, pass local/state scrutiny for wants and warrants that may be in the system, show PROOF OF RESIDENCY and current address, take a training course in lethal force laws and conflict resolution/de-escalation, and last but certainly not least, pass a shooting test that proves that you are at least minimally COMPETENT with using a handgun!

That is why states with a license system enjoy full reciprocity with Texas. In this manner, the state assures that ALL US Citizens leagally under arms within it's borders should be reasonably capable with the firearm, and have a basis for good judgement in a conflict of the highest order.

Those who pack only by the annointment of the ruling class need not apply.
