OEM. Certain things I won't do after market, this is one.

Electrosport had issues at one time, not all the screw holes lined up, wire had to be twisted to exit generator cover. And yrs later had not rectified the issue, whats up with that!?? Ricks? Never heard of anyone use them, but parts manager said they were always sending them back for out of box failures.

thats it, stator and rec/reg from an 05 or newer, other than the battery is the only other thing in what keeps power going.

So you recommend 05-> on the stater and rectifier. Is the regulator and the rectifier the same part. Trying to figure this out. Thanks

99 to 04
stator 21amp
rec/reg input rated at 18amp
2 issues here,
low amperage of stator and
rectifier input is rated lower than stator output...DUH!!!

05 to newer
stator 29amp
rectifier input rated at 35amp

this is much better

with the old system, lets just say for argument sake that with all the electrical gizmos you are using 20amps, fine and dandy for the stator, it can handle 21amps, but the 20amps is 2 amps over of what the input to the rectifier can handle, eventually it will burn out.

the rectifier/regulator is one unit, the rectifier portion takes the stator output which is AC voltage, converts it to DC voltage, the regulator takes the high DC voltage and regulates it down to a voltage that is usable. in layman terms

Hope this helps
Use what ya can, toss the rest
