Solo Seats- Narrowing down the list, want opinions 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I've narrowed down the list and would like to get some opinions based on the following criteria in order of importance:

1) Comfort [must be able to do day long trips on it.]
2) The Lower the better [right now I feel like I sit on top of the bike and I want to be down in it.]
3) As far back as possible [understanding there is a limitation with the seat horns the lower I go.]
4) Works with stock passenger seat. [not a deal breaker, but would prefer it.]
5) I'm considering a back rest at some point, if that makes any difference.

Also, I'd really like to know how much each seat lowers you from stock, if anyone knows.

Here they are in no particular order:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saddleman Renegade Classic Studded Solo - $225 with tax and shipping, from Cruiser Customizing with a 30 day money back guarantee if I'm not satisfied.
I like the styling and the idea of the gel pads, and the price is right, but it looks like it might push me further forward than the others.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Corbin Hollywood Solo - $388 with tax and shipping, [only source I can find is Corbin direct]
It appears to be narrower than stock, which is good, but It's the most expensive and I suspect it sits the highest however, I live a few hours from Corbin and could get it customized.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ulitma Solo -$165.53 shipped, from ebay
Best price by far, is low,and is narrow, which is good, but what about the all day comfort and is it a case of you get what you pay for? I've heard a couple, not so shining, comments about Ulitma seats.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yamaha Star Accessories, Comfort Cruise Boulevard - $215.21 shipped, from Yamaha Sports Plaza
Good looking seat, good price, appears to be narrower than stock and looks like it gives good rearward movement, but not sure how low it sits.

Thanks for indulging me folks, this exercise is as much for me to see it all laid out as it is to get opinions.

Looks like you might have missed one. The E.D.Standard Rider.

Low /back/good looks/all day comfort/works with a passenger seat/15 day trial/one year warranty.

Did I fail to mention $300 with studs?

Well personally I like the way the comfort cruise and the corbin hollywood solo look. I am also thinking about the PCS seat or maybe mean city cycles

I have the Yamaha Comfort Cruise Stiletto seat when I want to show her off. For touring, I have an Ultimate seat set.

Ultimate by far,
http://www.ultimateseats.ca/yamaha.html
They have been around for years, many members here have them. They stand behind them long after the 1 year warranty is up,not many do.
I should also note that I do not sell them.

I have always gone so o my bikes save for my goldwings.Due to my back problems, i needed special padding and extra lumber support. I chose a custom seat by motogirl. She matched the flames to my tank color, the seat is at least 1.5 inches lower and it simply flows with my design. she is a vendor here and the cost is extremely reasonable compared to the ultimate seats i usually use 9could not find a solo package from ultimate for the r*.

They are molded for the R* but are truly custom made to order so you need to contact her to decide the type and placement of the padding .

Good luck

cheers
