Mounting a DMY Trunk 1 Year, 3 Months ago
He Guys,

I've been mostly a lurker here and got some really good info on changing my tires, plugs, and aligning the belt.

I have a DMY trunk and want to know if anyone has ever mounted to their Roadstar with the Yami trunk rack.

Thanks for all the help!

Philip

dont know about the yamaha rack but you could do a wompus rack or ultrastar make one that slips into the oem backrest arms. he does top notch work i had one but sold it due to it no longer working for my set up. i will need to have him make me one a little widerat the arms now

I have the DMY trunk and made my own rack from 1/4" plate. I took the short OEM backrest and cut off the mount tabs and welded them to the rack then had it chromed. Slides right back in to the rest mounts. The stuff that comes with the trunk is not very stout so I replaced all that with some homebrewed parts also. BTW watch the hinges on that trunk. The pins may give you trouble.

Just get one from ultrastar. I bought mine from smokes that was made by ultrastar and it works great.

mine completely broke , but epoxied them back in, and then beefed up with more epoxy, lol but it is a very useful part that i have enjoyed adding , makes hauling thing easier!!
