I an guilt-free 1 Year, 3 Months ago
I spent Sunday with my wife at a jewelry show in DC. I had agreed to as part of her birthday and Valentine's Day combination. Her engagement ring setting broke a few month ago and needed a fix and she mentioned that he had "a stone or two" that might look good as a ring so she wanted to look for some settings.
She brought the stones wit her to find settings.
She has a one gallon freezer bag FILLED with little boxes of loose gems, there must be 20-25 in that bag alone and there are still others in storage.
I can now open my gun safes and cases without fear.
I admit that I have put her threw quite a bit in 25+ years together and she deserved the entirely NEW engagement ring and wedding band "we" decided on today. A bigger set of rocks because she now has a bigger husband, right?
And she has the dates for the next show in May when a few vendors said they can bring different settings to show her for her collection of stones.
For the last 20 years while I was not riding I started collecting Colt revolvers. Mainly early 20th and late 19th century DAs and early autos. My Colt collection is now, safe.
And I'm waiting for the next gun show.
And the R* is getting a LOT of new chrome. Starting with a tail lamp set up.
And old school set of exhaust to replace the V&H Longshots keeps coming to mind.

Hell, I wear'em every day. Always got a Cobra in my pocket. Or a 1903 Pocket Model or a Detective Special or if I'm REALLY feeling energetic a big ol' nickel .45 New Service revolver.

An I heard about a guy who had a whole collection of semi rifles until he took them for a canoe ride one day and danged if they didn't all fall overboard!

The only issue I have is as bad as talking to a LEO is when you're riding a bike can be, talking to one when you're LEGALLY carrying a weapon is a LOT harder. Fortunately, I haven't had to do it too often.

Shoot, I live in the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts... up here we don't even dare to talk about what we own, let alone ever wear or show anything!

Why do I stay here anyway?!?!?!?

Questcap, it's weird. When I lived in North I belonged to three clubs within a 30 minute drive. I could leave my house and the on the bench at Angle Tree in l5 minutes. But I couldn't but all kind of firearms 'cause they weren't on the approved "list".

NO COLTS! 'Cause we all know how much Gang Bangers love using single action wheel guns for drive-bys, right?

Now, here in free WV I can buy all kinds of things ("suppressors" are very popular items here. They're great for pickin' off wood chucks without bothering the neighbors or even waking up the wife! And just a $200 tax and some paper work when you buy it!)but unless you own land you can't find a place to shoot. Memberships in R&G Clubs are impossible to get. I had to join a pistol range 30 minutes away and I drive half an hour to a State shotgun range.
I have to come down to VA for a decent rifle range.

But I don't regret getting out of the "Democratic People's Socialist Republic of Massachusetts"!
When the wife had me standing in line at the jewelry show last Sunday I got a laugh when the three middle aged ladies ahead of us in line were talking about what pistol took up less room in their purse!
I don't think that conversation was EVER held in MA!

I'm laughing out loud, reading your post! We still have those clubs here, but you better have your irons stowed correctly b'tween here and the range, or by God, you're a felon and will do time!!!

I belonged to Angle Tree for 15 years. I also belonged to Wrentham Sportsman's and Ames Rifle in MA and I had a membership at Addeville East Farms over in RI.
And I got my Class A, Unrestricted LTC back when Coyle was Chief!.
