I am with BC1955. I have the same tunnel bag. Carries alot more than you can imagine. There are a couple of different sizes depending on the width of your rear seat. [/quote

Do you
know if they make one to go over the stock rear seat and what is the cost?
These bags won't fit over the stock passenger seat. The smaller tunnel bag fits seats 9 inch wide in the front and tapers to 6 inches in the back. The larger tunnel bag fits a seat 12 inch wide in the front and tapers to 9 inches wide in the back. Stock cruiser passenger seats tend to be wider in the back and narrower in the front, opposite of how these bags are designed. Some of the aftermarket seats fit these bags nicely.
I use the smaller tunnel bag on my R* with my comfort cruise stilletto seat and as you can see in the pic above. it fits perfectly.

+1 on the roll bag. I have the one in the photo. I'll mount in on the handlebars when i'm riding solo. Or i'll mount it off the back of the backrest when my girlfriend rides with me. I can put ALOT of stuff in in...a couple sweatshirts, my girlfriend's purse, a couple baseball caps, etc...Plus when I mount it on my handlebars, it kinda works like a mini windshield & helps knock some of the wind down. If I need to carry more than fits in this roll bag, I'll just put it in my riding buddy's saddlebag...he rides a street glide!

Like my Road Star naked without any saddlebags or backrests and don’t want any bulky tank bag or anything hanging on my front fork.

So when I ride with my pals, I use their saddlebags!! But when I'm riding alone, I throw my touring tail bag on my back seat and it does the trick, quick install & removal and very roomy. I use it as a backpack when we go on foot, very convenient.

Get a good backpack or sling bag backpack and you won't even notice it on. I don't have much choice with my bike though

My saddlebags are on Ghost brackets , so it's easy on , easy off (30 seconds). But getting back to the original question about doing errands without the help of bags......if it don't fit in my pockets........BB

I found a Saddlemen Pillion bag. It replaces the passenger seat and looks just like it. From 3 feet away it looks just like a passenger seat. Its actually an expandable backpack style bag...

I also ordered a fork bag which I'll leave my extra night shades, ear plugs, etc. Between the two I think I'm set...

I got a back pack from WalMart and if I have to carry something I use it.

I bought the "Fieldliner' motorcycle backpack at WalMart (mc section). About $30.00. It has reflective material all over it, removable aluminum stays, and holds a lot (enough for a weekend for me at least) It has a back pocket that slips over your passenger backrest, if you have one. Very water-resistant, several outer pockets and well-made. I've used it almost 4 years and it's still almost like new. I even took it to Mexico 2 weeks ago as my carry-on, and we used it on excursions. A note of caution to newbs strapping stuff on bikes... I once got a couple of bungee straps wrapped up in my rear wheel on a 350 Honda. Stopped me dead. And just last summer, a friend was riding in front of me on his garage-built death machine (Triumph bobber) when his t-shirt slipped off the back of the bike somehow, and ended up tangled in his sprocket and chain. All I saw was smoke and flames, and he nearly wrecked getting off the side of the road. It had to be cut out little piece-by-piece. Make sure whatever you attach to the back of your bike is really secure!

I hate to say this but based upon my set up (I have a side mount license plate and my turn signals are attached to the upper, rear fender bolts), I'm gonna purchase one of those gay a$$ looking messenger bags. There's no way that I can connect saddlebags to my bike. And, I'm tired of dumping thousands into my bike to change it up. I think a messenger bag over my shoulder is the best route.
