Polishdog,

I know what you mean. While I have a V&H 2 into 1 Pro Pipe on one R*, and it sounds satisfactory to me, and produces extra oomph, too... I went and put the same pipe on my other Road Star, and, believe it or not, I don't care for the sound of that one very much at all! (go figure!)

I'm going to Stage 3 a set of stock pipes I have layin' around, and try them. I've heard a set before and was amazed at the depth and rumble of them.

I have a set of Santee pipes with Sportster style mufflers on them... an eBay snag from years back, and they sound, well, like a Sportster!

One of my bikes came with Cobra long straights, and sounded like h*ll!

Who else here can point polish in a "little more rumble" direction?

Questcap, I did a stage 3 on my 09. If you are doing pipes from an 08 or newer, you may have the same issue as I did. It seems the center pipe weld at the base(inside the muffler)is welded on the back side instead of the front side as with pipes previous to 08. This makes it impossible to get it out cleanly and nearly impossible to get it out at all. However, I put them on today and really like the sound. I had cobra speedster slashdowns previously. The stage 3 has the low rumble and not as loud.

Polishdog,

I have the Samson Warlord Cannons and could not be happier. They are DEEP and LOUD. The Samson website says they do not come with heat shields but this was not the case when I received them. Not only do they sound great but they also look awesome. If you like the look of the longshots, I think you would like these. I think there might be a video on youtube somewhere as well.

Ultima, Bub Jug Huggers or Samson will give you that deep sound you are looking for. I have a set of Ultimas and all the Harley guys turn their heads when I fire the Roadstar up.

Do all the Ultima exhaust systems come with no baffles?

Also, Can I get aftermarket baffles for the V&H Longshots?
