Took the old after market boards off the bike that had the chrome flaking and peeling, and I'm getting ready for the new Baron long boards and new Kury grips, to replace the last set of Kury grips that are looking like cr@p.
Pulled the rear brake lever off the bike and cleaned up the inboard side that faces the motor. Must be a tough place to clean. Wire brushed and scuffed up everything except the face of the lever with the good chrome, and sprayed some silver Hammerite on it.

Had a stinkin nail go head first into my back tire. I pulled it out and did several soapy water test with results being no leaking air. Still riding almost everyday but every little noise now and I am thinking about it. My tires are good for at least another year so trying to hold out til then. Looking to go with 160 in back as I read on this forum that you can do it without any mod...

Why the back tire....it's always the back tire. Read a report that theorized that the front tire stood the nail up just in time for the back tire. Dunno!

and yes 160-80/16 fit easily and corrects the speedo too. 'course ya won't be as fast off the line, if that's important to ya.

As for me......still working on the venture bag mounting. Ran out of argon last night or I'd be done with the welding.

Today, my new rear tire arrived. Okay, so it was the standard 150 size. And, yes, I went with a lower priced Kenda Kruz. I put them on my other bike 2 seasons back, and thought they worked just fine.
